There are a couple of ways you can declutter house and yard areas. You could take the easier and slower way and tackle one room at a time until the job is complete even though it may take months. The other way to have a weekend blitz where you preplan down to the smallest detail, and when the time comes, you sort and haul away clutter like a whirlwind. Each of these has its advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes you might not have a choice in your approach, especially if you have to have your home tidied up in short order.
hyundai of san luis obispo Believe it or not there are rules and sometimes fees for the things you’re tossing. For instance you may actually be able to make money off of appliances. You need to have enough to make the drive out to get them worth it or you can deliver them but you get paid by the ton. Sometimes it’s easier to give these away. Televisions, computer monitors, refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, paint cans, propane tanks and tires all have a fee associated with getting rid of them. This may even be why you see them so often outside someone’s home. Paying to throw things away can be a hard pill to swallow. At some point however, you want your yard or garage back.
First off, if you have a wholesaler’s license, and have an active account with merchants who do sell gold, silver and gold filled metal, wire and findings, then they usually have a way for their customers to send them their scrap for either a credit for future metal buys, or will give you a check, which will usually be for less than the credit you would receive if you took the credit.
What about antiques? Or old and unusual things? Their value is slightly more difficult to gauge. We have all heard stories of people picking up an innocuous looking item at a garage sale, then going on to sell it for thousands at auction. The last thing you want to do is unknowingly sell off an expensive item for a few dollars. Set all of the sale items you are unsure of to one side, and you can deal with them in more detail, once you have the majority of your pricing done.
In addition, make sure the body panels fit together properly. The small gap between panels should be consistent over the whole car. If the gaps are too wide or too close in some areas, this may be a clue that the vehicle has been in an accident.
The Hummer TV commercials all feature original song compositions just for the commercials. So you can’t go out and buy the songs but you can buy other songs from those artists. The artists they used are Robot Repair, Birgir Sigurdsson, Owen O’toole, Face the Music, Fluid and Duotone.
2) The junk yard. While you might think you are above visiting a junk yard, are you above saving a lot of money? Probably not. A quick stop in at the local junk yard might save you a lot of money compared to a new air filter. And, even better, this ties directly into point #1. A friend of my, Robert, needed an auto part so he looked online and found a junk yard. The junk yard shipped him a part that was almost new and he couldn’t have been happier. Just cause an air filter is used, doesn’t mean it’s very used!
How can you get in on the action? First get a basic business license with your state online. Just do a Google search and you’ll find the agency that can process your application in 10 minutes or less–usually $50. Now post an ad in Craigslist’s moving and labor section. Make it as professional as possible. Add graphics. Note that your prices are competitive. Call other junk haulers to “feel out” their prices. You should initially price yourself slightly below the competition as you build a following.
