I am publishing this information so my audience will know what things to expect upon a visit(s) to a urologist office. I briefly touched on this in an earlier post. The initial visit will include a number of tests & exams that could be performed.
The first thing most office’s can do is have a urine test. This can be used to test for things as UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) & also a source of germs in the urine.
Urine samples can also be made use of to test for other conditions also. The issue with urine samples in checking for prostate associated disorders(especially prostatitis) is that bacteria hides in the prostate.
As a matter of fact, ninety five % of urine samples can have zero bacteria in the urine.Even although this is the situation, nearly all urologist nevertheless treat the person as having bacteria from the urine since it hides in the prostate.
When giving a urine sample then probably the following quiz is going to be something that I also briefly touched on & that is a digital Rectal Exam(DRE). This’s an examination that is common in checking for prostate related diseases. This exam involves the doctor inserting his index finger or maybe fingers to the rectum.
This enables him/her to physically examine the prostate. The exam only continue for around 30-45 seconds from most. The doctor will be checking for abnormalities from the prostadine prostate. The abnormalities examined for could be enlargement, inflammation, swelling, lumps, & tumors. As for many men the largest worry will be a tumor(possible cancer).
I can speak from experience this exam is not a more comfortable one. This will be particularly uncomfortable if you’ve an enlarged or swollen prostate. In fact, in case you have any prostate related problem then it is gonna be very uncomfortable. I was nauseated for 20+ minutes after my 1st DRE. I broke out into a cold sweat & just felt truly unusual for a while.
Once this exam is performed then the doctor will normally tell you right away what is felt upon examination. This will assist in determining the diagnosis of his & therapy option(s).
